My Favorite films of 2015

My list of my 5 favorite films of 2015 from highest grossing block busters, to small films I’ve watched at film festivals. Part my criteria of how I picked my 5 favorites are script, cinematography, the experience I had watching the film, and the long term effect the film had on me.

The Life and Death of an Unhappily Married Man

Directed by Josh Hope

Starring Rusty Schwimmer, Tommy Beardmore

I saw this film at The Austin Revelation film festival which was a great film experience. The Life and Death of an Unhappily Married Man this is one of those movies that stays with you.

Simshar

Director by Rebecca Cremona

Staring Lotfi Abdelli, Jimi Busuttil

This is the feature film film from Malta, it’s based on a true story about 3 generations of men who are lost in the mediterranean sea.

The Hateful Eight

Directed by Quentin Tarantino

Staring Samuel Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh

Shoot in 70mm The Hateful Eight had great cinematography every shoot was stunning.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Directed by J.J. Abrams

Starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher,Daisy Ridley, John Boyega

This was my most anticipated film to watch this year, it didn’t disappoint at all.

Straight Outta Compton

Directed by F. Gary Gray

Starring O’ Shea Jackson Jr. Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell

I chose this film for a few reasons one of them was all the controversy and the conversations the film started. Which reflected the NWA as band whose was just as controversial and knew how to create a buzz, and impotent aspect to the bio-pic.

Mad Max: Fury Road

Directed by George Miller

Staring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron

None stop action, the perfect summer movie. The FX’s & the sets where mind blowing the amount of details, the amount of time it took to build the vehicles, and the challenges of shooting in a Namib Desert

Production Budget:$150,000,000
