Best Films & TV Series of the Decade 2010 - 2019

RJZTV’s favorite films and television series from the 2010s, why am I combining film and television together, with all the streaming services, television has made leaps and bounds to make long form storytelling more adaptable. Plus I didn't want to make two lists of television shows and TV series. So here's my top five list.

5

Fargo

TV series

3 Seasons 30 Episodes

This is a true story … based upon one of my favorite films of all time the 1996 Coen Brothers film Fargo, the FX TV series created by Noah Hawley a has been a great compliment to the film. A crime mystery, that’s filled with plot twists, offbeat characters who committed crimes because they felt they have been done wrong, and I can help having a soft spot for them. All three seasons are different, but someway all intertwined and relate to each other in a mystifying way. I'm really looking forward to season four coming out in 2020 starring Chris Rock. Season 1 Premiered on April 15 2014, the last episode of Season 3 aired on June 21 2017.

Season 1

Stars Allison Tolman as Molly Solverson, Billy Bob Thornton as Lorne Malvo, & Colin Hanks as Gus Grimly

Season 2

Stars Kirsten Dunst as Peggy Blumquist , Patrick Wilson as Lou Solverson , & Ted Danson as Hank Larsson

Quentin Tarantino

Django UnChained, The Hateful Eight, Once Upon a time…in Hollywood

I would like to place all three of Quentin Tarantino’s films on this list, Django UnChained, Once Upon a time…in Hollywood, & but I’ll go with the visually stunning modern day western Hateful Eight where eight bounty Hunter are isolated in a small cabin, on a stormy winter day, all the characters have their own agenda, are not who they say they are for their own gain, and their own protection.

action ride from start to finish, with explosions, outlandish action sequences, out of this world vehicles, & the blind Coma-Doof Warrior hanging by a bungie cable attached to the front of Immortan Joe vehicle while playing a guitar that breathes fire, I'm amazed at how each vehicles where built to be fully functional. This film is the thrill ride & the best action film of the 2010s.

Ex Machina

Ex Machina is the film that has stayed with me the most out of most of the films I've seen in the 2010s, with themes of isolation, playing God, the future of tech, and one of my favorite plots themes in film as master manipulation. The film takes you wanted journey you don't know who is telling the truth, who is the hero, or witch of characters being victimized.
